ETA CERTIFICATION CLASSES
How ETA Certification is achieved:
- NOTE: A N Upper Room Bible Institute classes are currently available in-classroom and simultaneously live on line by qualified and certified ETA instructors.
- An Upper Room Bible Institute is partnering with the Evangelical Training Association www.ETAWorld.org to equip Christ’s followers of any age with a sound biblical education to empower them to accurately handle the Word of God.
ETA, located in Wheaton, Illinois partners with many Bible institutes, colleges and universities including Dallas Theological Seminary, Crown College, and California Christian College. Bible Institutes affiliated with the ETA are housed in churches in many evangelical denominations.
To achieve a certificate from the ETA, classes must be taught by ETA certified instructors. Students are held to a high standard of achievement that includes minimal attendance requirements, final exam course or a practicum.
ETA awards four certificates. AUR BIBLE INSTITUTE is currently in the process of offering a full curriculum to earn ETA certification for the following categories:
Foundational Church Ministries
New Testament Survey, Understanding People, Growing Toward Spiritual Maturity, & 1 elective course
Standard Church Ministries
Completion of Foundational Church Ministries and:
Old Testament Survey #1, *You and your Bible, Old Testament Survey #2, & 1 elective course
Advanced Church Ministries
Completion of Standard Church Ministries and:
*The Triune God, Biblical Beliefs, 2 elective courses
Leadership in Church Ministries
Completion of Advanced Church Ministries and:
Biblical Leadership, Perspectives from Church history, 2 elective courses
Elective Courses:
Sunday School Ministry, Ministry & Evangelism, Music & Worship, Evangelism in the 21st Century, Church Educational Ministries, Teaching Adults with Confidence, Teaching Youth with Confidence, World Missions Today, & Teaching Techniques.

Foundational Church Ministries
Requires the completion four classes.
Two required classes:
Growing Toward Spiritual Maturity
Understanding People (Ministering to people of all ages)
Plus two electives such as:
The Truth About World Views
New Testament Survey
Biblical Beliefs
Standard Church Ministries
Requires the completion of Foundational Church Ministries certificate and four additional classes:
Required:
Completion of:

Completion of two survey classes such as
New Testament Survey
Old Testament Survey #1
Old Testament Survey #2
Plus two electives such as:
Biblical Beliefs
The Truth about World Views
Previously taken survey classes can count toward the two survey requirement, but a total of 4 new classes must be taken for this certificate.
Advanced Church Ministries
Requires the completion of Standard Church Ministries certificate and the following courses:
Total of 3 Bible survey classes in all +

Plus three electives from classes such as:

Teaching Techniques
Beyond Reasonable Doubt
Christian Ethics
Evangelism for the 21st Century
Leadership in Church Ministries
Requires the completion of Advanced Church Ministries certificate and the following courses:
